Hosting platforms for AI-built apps in 2026
An operations manager, owner or analyst has built a working app for the business with an AI tool and now needs it live for staff or customers. They cannot run a server or read a cloud console, so they want login, a database that does not lose data, backups, scheduled jobs and safe storage for API keys handled for them, at a price they can predict, without being stuck on the tool that built it.
Which hosting for ai-built apps to choose in 2026
For a business app built with a coding agent, Whisk is the strongest fit on the features that decide this choice. It is the only entry with login, a backed-up database, private-by-default data, secrets, scheduled jobs, export and a flat team price all built in. Its gap is that it has no builder of its own, so the person needs Claude Code, Codex or Cursor installed. If you would rather never leave the browser, Lovable is the runner-up, provided you check its data rules and watch Cloud credits; Base44 suits internal tools on its Elite plan, and Replit fits people who want a full workspace and will set a spending limit. Pay for Render or Railway when a developer is involved and the app already lives on GitHub. The open-source options, Coolify and Dokploy, handle hosting and backups well but still need someone to run a server and still leave login to the app.
Best for a business app built with Claude Code, Codex or Cursor
Whisk
It is the only entry that covers all nine core needs as shipped, including continuous backups kept 30 days, private-by-default data, export of code and data, and a flat price with unlimited people. You need a coding agent on your computer to build and change the app, and the service is new, so weigh that against the feature coverage.
Best for building and hosting in one browser tab
Lovable
Database, sign-in, secrets, scheduled jobs and daily snapshots come with the builder, and nothing needs installing. Run its security scan and check your data rules before real customers arrive, and expect credit charges for Cloud usage.
Best for an internal tool with roles and workflows and no code at all
Base44
Access roles, built-in email, scheduled workflows and logs are set up from dashboards, on flat credit plans not priced per seat. Choose Elite or higher if the data matters, because backups are not on the lower plans, and accept that the backend stays on Base44.
Best conventional host when a developer helps now and then
Render
Fixed instance prices, Postgres with point-in-time recovery, cron jobs and rollback make it a steady home for an app whose code is already on GitHub. Login has to come from the app or a separate service.
Best for self-hosting on a server you already run
Coolify
It gives you deploys, databases with backups, scheduled tasks and rollback on your own hardware with no usage billing. Only pick it if someone can install and patch the server.
What hosting for ai-built apps software needs to do
- Put the app live on a web address Everyone needs One step from the builder or the AI tool gives a working HTTPS address, with no server to set up and no difference between preview and live that breaks the app.
- A real database included Everyone needs A managed database is created with the app and survives every redeploy, so data entered by staff or customers is never wiped by a code change.
- Login for staff or customers, with roles Everyone needs Sign-in, password reset and invitations work out of the box, and you can decide who sees which app or page without writing an auth system.
- Automatic backups you can restore yourself Everyone needs The database is backed up without anyone switching it on, and a non-developer can restore an earlier point after a bad change or a deletion.
- Data private by default Everyone needs Tables and files are closed to the public unless opened on purpose, and the platform catches exposed keys or open data instead of leaving it to generated code.
- Safe storage for API keys Everyone needs Keys for Stripe, email or AI services are stored encrypted outside the code and the chat, and reach the app at run time.
- Keep changing the app with the AI tool Everyone needs After launch, the same AI tool can make changes and put them live, without a manual deploy step or a developer in between.
- Take your code and data elsewhere Everyone needs The code is ordinary code you can download or sync to GitHub, and the data and user accounts can be exported in a standard format if you leave.
- Predictable bill for a team of ten Everyone needs A flat monthly price that covers normal use for ten people, or at least a hard spending cap, rather than open-ended usage or AI-credit charges.
- Nothing to install Most need Everything, building included, happens in a web browser, with no terminal, local tools or GitHub account required.
- Undo a bad release Most need Earlier versions are kept and one click puts the last good version back live.
- Scheduled jobs and automations Most need Code can run on a timer or after an event (a nightly import, a weekly report email) with a record of each run.
- Alerts and readable logs when something breaks Most need You hear about failed deploys, crashes and failed jobs, and can see what went wrong without reading server internals.
- Your own domain Most need The app can sit on an address like portal.yourcompany.com with HTTPS handled for you.

- Whisk
- According to its own pages it covers every core need. It offers Postgres per app with continuous backups kept 30 days, team and customer sign-in, encrypted secrets, scheduled jobs and workflows, code and data export, and a flat price with unlimited people. It has no builder of its own, so you need a coding agent such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor running on your computer.
- Base44
- A no-code builder with its own backend, offering tables, roles and access settings, built-in email, workflows on a schedule, logs, branches and a security scan, on flat credit plans that are not priced per seat. Data backups exist only on Elite ($160 a month billed yearly) and above, workflows need Builder, and the backend runs on Base44's own service, so GitHub sync gives you the code but not a backend you can run elsewhere.
- Lovable
- Builds and hosts in one browser tab, with Lovable Cloud supplying a database, sign-in, secrets, scheduled jobs and daily database snapshots kept about two weeks. Data access rests on row-level security in generated code, which independent scans keep finding misconfigured, Cloud usage is billed in credits on top of the plan, and leaving means a migration to Supabase in which user passwords do not carry over.
- Replit
- A browser workspace with an agent, publishing, a production database with point-in-time restore (7 days on Core, 28 on Pro), Replit Auth, secrets and scheduled deployments. The common complaint is the bill. Agent work is charged per checkpoint and overage goes to the card unless you set a limit, and code rollback and database restore are separate steps.
- Bolt
- Bolt Cloud adds hosting, a database, sign-in, file storage, secrets, server functions and a security scan to the browser builder, and you can claim the database into your own Supabase account. Its version history restores code but not database data, and no database backup feature is documented; hosting overage is pay-as-you-go up to a cap you set.
- Render
- A conventional app host with Postgres and point-in-time recovery, cron jobs, background workers, previews and zero-downtime deploys, at fixed instance prices with unlimited seats on Pro ($25 a month plus compute). There is no login service, and deploying means connecting a Git repository, so it suits an app whose code already lives on GitHub.
- Vercel
- With v0 as the builder, Vercel hosts the app with instant rollback, cron jobs, observability and spend management that can pause projects at a limit. The database and customer login come from Marketplace providers such as Neon or Supabase, so backups and data rules depend on that second account, and staff sign-in through Passport is a sales-led product.
- Coolify
- Self-hosted platform that deploys apps and databases to your own server, with database backups to S3, scheduled tasks, rollback to kept images, notifications and automatic HTTPS. Someone has to install and look after the server, which is exactly what this buyer cannot do, and app login is left to your code.
- Dokploy
- Similar to Coolify, with self-hosted deploys, databases with backups to S3-compatible storage, schedule jobs, rollbacks, preview deployments and failure notifications. The same gap applies, since you run the server, and part of the code sits under a proprietary licence.
- Netlify
- A good host for sites and front ends, with Netlify Database (generally available since April 2026), scheduled functions and deploy rollback, on credit plans with auto-recharge off by default. Netlify Identity was deprecated in February 2025, so login needs another provider. Netlify Database keeps scheduled backups for 3, 7 or 30 days depending on the plan.
- Railway
- One-click Postgres, cron schedules and volume backups on daily, weekly or monthly schedules, with a visual project canvas. Billing is usage-based on top of a small plan fee, with usage limits that stop services when reached, and there is no login service.
- Supabase
- The backend under Lovable and Bolt, providing Postgres, auth, storage, edge functions, cron and queues, with daily backups kept 7 days on Pro ($25 a month plus compute). It does not host the web app itself, and because the browser talks to the database directly, every table needs a correct row-level security policy, which is where many AI-built apps leak data.
- Appwrite
- Open-source backend with auth, databases, storage, functions with schedules, messaging and Sites hosting for the front end. Self-hosting it is a developer job, and database backups are a feature of the paid Appwrite Cloud rather than the self-hosted edition.
